The history of the farm complex De Kronehoef goes back to 1378. This year, that is exactly 644 years ago! Back then the complex was still called the estate ‘Te Gruythuys’. The oldest known map of Eindhoven, that of Jacob van Deventer from around 1560, shows the farm complex.
The wall sections of the residence date from around 1800 and probably even from the end of the 18th century. By Eindhoven standards, and especially for the Woensel district, such an old construction date is rare. The remaining parts of the farmhouse date from 1884. This construction phase is also quite rare for Eindhoven and Woensel standards.
